Rochdale | Youth mental health and masculinity
Delivered to students in Rochdale, this assembly created an honest and thought-provoking conversation around youth mental health, masculinity, and the pressures many young men face today. Through open discussion and real-life experiences, students were encouraged to reflect on identity, resilience, emotional wellbeing, and the importance of seeking support when needed. More than a presentation, it was an opportunity to challenge harmful stereotypes, strengthen positive attitudes, and inspire young people to approach life's challenges with confidence, responsibility, and purpose.

Working alongside Birmingham City University, this programme gave young people the opportunity to explore the realities of stop and search through a criminology-focused learning experience. As part of the local council elections, young people had the opportunity to engage with the process by supporting the campaign of Nechells councillor Mansoor Ahmed. Sixteen young people took part in a residential adventure programme designed to challenge comfort zones, strengthen character, and build lasting friendships. Delivered in partnership with Free at Last, this rock climbing experience challenged young people to step beyond their comfort zones and discover what they were capable of achieving. As participants encouraged one another through every climb, they developed confidence, resilience, trust, and teamwork in a supportive environment. The day demonstrated that personal growth often begins by facing challenges together, leaving young people with a stronger belief in their own abilities both on and off the climbing wall.

Delivered to Progressive Masculinities, this specialist training explored how youth practitioners can engage young Muslim men through conversations around faith, identity, and positive masculinity.
